Supporting and Championing Teaching

Following recent work undertaken in 2007 in relation to supporting new and early career lecturers, we have developed and delivered a number of events and created a number of resources specifically to support this thematic area.

Past Events

1. Starting Out: Workshops for New and Early Career Lecturers in Drama/Theatre Studies

PALATINE has previously organised two intensive workshops (a two-day pilot event in October 2007 and a one day event in February 2008) for newly, or recently appointed lecturers in Drama and Theatre Studies.

Details of the events can be found here:

3. STARTING OUT in ASSESSING PERFORMANCE

Higher education faces many concerns and contradictions in its pursuit of effective practice in learning, teaching and assessment, and assessment in HE performing arts provides a number of particular and complex challenges.

PALATINE has now organized two one day Starting Out workshops for new or relatively new lecturers in HE that explored some of the issues, and shares ideas and good practices in the area of the assessment of performance in dance, drama and music.
