Imaginative Curriculum Resources Archive

The Imaginative Curriculum network is a cross-disciplinary community of people who are interested in creativity and who care about higher education’s role in students’ creative development. The network has grown steadily from the 30 people who participated in the start-up meeting in January 2002 to over 270 members including people in the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Europe. At the heart of the research and development project is a campaign to encourage higher education to give greater attention to its role in developing students’ creativity.

These notes, papers, polemics and provocations were originally produced for and as part of the Imaginative Curriculum Project. The project, which is networked-based, aims to engage higher education in thinking more deeply about its role in nurturing creativity, and to provide practical help and advice to teachers who want to develop their curricula in ways that are more likely to foster students’ creativity. Since its inception in January 2002, the project has been driven by the belief that creativity in students’ learning is undervalued, and generally not recognised in UK higher education (except for areas like the visual and performing arts).
