PALATINE Development Awards

PALATINE welcomes applications for Development Awards at any time.
Funds of up to £7500 are available for projects that enhance or support learning and teaching in higher education dance, drama or music and are of use beyond applicants' own departments and institutions.
PALATINE would especially welcome applications that address one (or more) of the following priority areas identified by the Higher Education Academy:
- Better teaching: developing excellent teaching for all students; promoting the professionalisation of teaching; learning from the National Student Survey; enhancing the external examining process
- Flexibility of learning: enhancing the learning experience, supporting departments in their responses to changes in the student profile, diversifying models and methodologies of learning
- Graduates' impact and contribution to society and the economy: clarifying the relationship between the undergraduate experience and graduates' subsequent lives and contribution to society and the economy, including education for sustainable development and student engagement in curriculum design and delivery
For 2010-2011, PALATINE would also especially welcome a proposal to investigate what "education for sustainable development" might mean for our disciplines and/or to develop or share practice in introducing sustainable development as a topic within performing arts curricula.
Applications are refereed by external specialists to ensure that each funded project will make a useful and high-quality contribution to the subject and deliver value for money.
Please read the guidelines on how to apply along with the criteria used in the peer review process.
